JOAN CASON
"I enjoy working in watercolor because of the transparency and freshness of the medium. Although it can be difficult to work with, watercolor is also a 'magic' medium--full of surprises!"
Joan Cason has been painting since she was a teenager, but has had more time to concentrate on her artwork since she retired from the Oshkosh Area School District. She received her bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, and has studied with several internationally-known artists. Her paintings have won awards in juried shows. Although most of her work is in watercolor, she has also been creating some paintings in pastel recently.
"I love painting en plein air. Painting outdoors, observing the play of light on trees, fields, and flowers gives me both peace and joy. Although I have painted in Europe and many places in the U. S., Hartman Creek State Park near Waupaca remains a very special place for me. I have created many paintings there. I also enjoy painting at Waukau Creek Nature Preserve in Waukau, WI."
Oshkosh Consign Center is proud to feature the works of Joan Cason.
